A recent article in Traveller Magazine by snow-blogger Rachel Oakes-Ash names Korea as one of the world's unusual skiing destinations. It might be unusual, but it sure has a lot to offer!
While the snow industry in Korea is relatively young (Korea's first resort was Yongpyong, which opened in 1975) it's certainly come a long way. Now there are numerous world-class resorts for all to enjoy and Korea is beginning to be discovered as a great snow travel destination. Yes, while Korea might be seen as unusual now, it will be the centre of the winter sport enthusiasts world in a couple of short years! And then, watch out!
Other unusual skiing destinations include Kashmir, India and Shyumbulak in Kazakhstan. And what great places to visit! Yes folks, we've been there too! We hope to bring you more as we (slowly) develop our future destinations!
