The beauty of the mountains in winter is easily experienced from the capital of Seoul. If you are pressed for time, on business with a day to spare, or just looking for some Friday night fun, there are several resorts within 30 – 50 minutes from the centre of Seoul.

With the convenience of shuttle bus services from running from locations around Seoul and the resorts throughout the season, snow sports from the megacity metropolis is a great way to spend a day or evening out on the mountain. If you feel like a night away, there are also plenty of on-snow accommodation options. Snowboarders and skiers will find a variety of wide-open slopes and snow parks for those wanting to test their aerial skills. And in keeping with the city pace, most of the resorts have fantastic night-opening times so you can hit the slopes until the early hours of the morning.

Here is our run down on the Seoul metro ski resorts…
